Campaign update, Oct. 24
Corey Hascall, Portland
Wednesday, October 24

Dear friends,
Could this gorgeous autumn get any better?
The Ethan08 team has been busy talking to Maine people at fall events all over the district; Harvestfest in York (special thanks to Jim Bartlett and Susan Christmas for showing us around, and the Harvie family for clipboarding), at the lasagna dinner the Lincoln County Democrats put on (great work on the food Ellie, Betsy and LCDC team!), and at New Gloucester Community Days (Ethan loved the hot air balloon ride and meeting so many great people.)
As we continue our conversation with Maine voters, it's important that we keep folks updated on our progress. This is YOUR campaign too and so we hope that you will get involved and get energized!
ANNOUNCEMENT DAY
It doesn't seem possible that just a few short weeks ago, Ethan announced that he is indeed a candidate to represent Maine's 1st District in Congress. I have to say that it sure feels great to say that! Announcement Day was a special day for all of us, and one that we were honored to share with many of you.
GOOD LUCK
In typical Maine weather style, announcement morning was marked by FOG and RAIN- and lots of it! We took it as a sign of good luck, like rain on your wedding day. And despite that rain, and the need to move our rally indoors, a crowd of over 100 people packed into a steamy downtown Portland basement to be a part of Ethan's announcement for Congress.
From there, we hopped on that great Ethan08 Bus to visit friends all over the district in Sanford, Biddeford, Rockland, Augusta and Manchester.
Why did so many people crowd into that small hot basement to support Ethan?
And why would so many take a day off from work and ride on a bus all day just to shake Ethan Strimling for Congress signs in the pouring rain in towns all over Maine?
Here's my answer:
We've always known that if Ethan Strimling is Maine's next U.S. Representative, it won't just be Ethan going to Washington DC. Ethan is going to take all of us with him. All our stories, all our dreams, and all our worries. All those Maine values that you've shared with him on the road and in your living rooms are going to Washington DC with Ethan. And every day that Ethan represents Maine people in Congress will be another day that he is fighting for us. That's just who he is.
And it's going to take all of us together to get him there. So come join us on that now symbolic bus ride!
If you'd like to help, send us an email at info@Ethan08.com or give us a call at our campaign headquarters at 874-0808.
Onward and Upward!
