Campaign update, Oct. 30

Corey Hascall, Portland

Tuesday, October 30

Dear friends,

Welcome to another fun edition of the Ethan08 weekly campaign round-up. But before we get into all of that, we have some very important business to take care of first.

Let's pay homage to our home team, and World Series Champions- how about those RED SOX!

A New Team-Ethan Member:

I want to officially welcome Bangor-native and community organizing super star, Rosemary Baldacci, to our Ethan08 family. We are so proud that Rosemary has agreed to serve as our campaign field director. We can already taste those spaghetti suppers Rosemary!

Rosemary's strength rests in her "ground-up" approach to grassroots organizing. She shares our philosophy that this campaign for change belongs in the hands of the people (that means all of YOU!)

Our goal in life from this day forward will be "The Three E's." Pure and simple, Rosemary will lead our field team and ensure that supporters and volunteers are EMPOWERED, ENGAGED, and ENERGIZED. So, go Rosemary go! You can welcome Rosemary by dropping her a line at Rosemary@Ethan08.com.

The Three E's:

Now it's your turn to tell us what you think. How can the Ethan08 team Empower, Engage and Energize all of you as we move ahead to the June primary? I'm sure many of you have war stories about how other campaigns have done it wrong. So, how can we do it right? YOU know the answer, so please drop us an email at info@Ethan08.com and let us know how we can spread the word in your town.

On The Road:

This week the Ethan08 team was once again on the road with stops in Westbrook, Bangor, Augusta, and also Peaks Island.

Tuesday evening, Ethan was in Westbrook for the SARSSM (Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine) board meeting. Thursday we headed north to Bangor to say hello to our labor friends at the Maine AFL-CIO convention. It was great to be surrounded by so many hard-working women and men all in one room. Our hats off to SARSSM and AFL-CIO for the work that they do to make the lives of Maine people better.

On Friday night, we were in Augusta to attend the Kennebec County Democrats Annual Family Reunion dinner. Rita, Ed and the KCDC team did a great job pulling together some first-rate auction items. We dashed back to Portland that evening so that Ethan could be Obi-Wan Kenobi at a Halloween party with his wife, Mary. But on Saturday morning Team-Ethan was up and out early to catch the ferry to Peaks Island for a house party hosted by our friends Brenda Buchanan, Diane Kenty, and Judith McAllister. And finally, last night the Ethan08 team was excited to be at the Maine Women's Fund dinner to celebrate our state's women and girls. Congratulations to the night's honorees and to MWF for its bold vision for the future.

So, as we pull into the final busy stretch of October, I want to wish you all a safe and Happy Halloween.

And remember, no tricks, just treats (and a lot of hard work) from the Ethan08 team.

Onward and upward friends!
