Strimling earns support for diligence, wage plan

I have known Ethan Strimling for more than 10 years and was part of the Portland West board of directors that hired him as executive director in 1996.

Beyond the exemplary work that Ethan has shown at Portland West in regard to bottom-line discipline, community commitment and focused determination to make sure the people of Maine get the help they need, I am writing because of the work he has done in the Legislature.

From his tireless work building a bipartisan compromise to reduce all our taxes, to his fight to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, to his endless work trying to close the gap between the rich and poor, Ethan has been a remarkable legislator.

He understands that the middle class is hurting in this country and that if we are ever to regain our footing as the model for others around the world, we must rebuild Maine's working families.
